You can find your pedometer here, if you are interested in this OZO fitness model. It’s doggy approved!
Maggie and I are having a snack today. I made homemade apple crisp, homemade frozen yogurt, and even bought new ramekin dishes to serve it in. This is Sunday afternoon at our house…great liquid Vitamin C included for top notch immunity!
I’ve written about this before, but it seems that more and more of my generation are lacking in Vitamin D. Many of us are taking D supplements which I think is a good thing since we somehow aren’t getting enough via the sun, food, or however else.
Recently, a good friend of mine recommended eating foods that are rich in other supplements that can help the absorption of the D. I found an article on it Wikihow that outlined it nicely:
“Consider increasing your intake of other nutrients that are cofactors of vitamin D. Cofactors are nutrients that work together to help the body absorb as much of the nutrients as possible. For example, magnesium is known to be a co-factor of vitamin D. This means that eating foods that are rich in magnesium, or taking magnesium supplements, may help your body to absorb vitamin D more efficiently. Other nutrients that are thought to help your body absorb vitamin D include:
This month I got a bottle of 5000 UI from Inner Sanctuary. It’s a small pill which is easy to swallow and provides A LOT of UI for the buck. Get some somehow today!
we need something to get us out the door. Last week, I taught yoga to Alzheimer’s patients and they were reluctant to join me. They were watching tv, sleeping, and not interested in my breathing techniques, stretching, or twisting. Once I put on some music and got them moving, they didn’t want me to leave. It makes me realize that once we start moving, it’s easier to keep going.
This morning, I’m putting on some good music using my bluetooth connector, grabbing my favorite workout partner (my dog), and am going to start moving. Once we’re moving, it’s much harder to stop and we feel so much better after!
This week, I decided to clean the 30+ yoga mats we use for the students in the yoga studio where I teach. This idea of ‘spring cleaning’ must truly be sitting well with me.
I started the task and quickly put on some music to help keep my spirits up as I washed down both sides of the mats. They aren’t very dirty, but getting on all fours and climbing around the room isn’t a task for the weary.
Here I am in the studio and excited to welcome new students that we are inviting to the program next week. I hope they enjoy the classes where they too will find inspiration from movement and music!
My husband loves cats and dogs. Despite his very masculine nature, he loves watching those crazy cat videos on YouTube in his free time. He has a friend who works with animals and every time he sees a good one, he sends it to her. She thinks he sits around all day watching them. I think he would if he could.
Today, I am sharing a fun photo since these crazy cat videos and photos are that…they are fun! They make life a little lighter and a bit more joyful for a few minutes. I liked this one of the cat driving the car because it also reminded me of the cool new magnetic phone holders that we just got for our cars.
I don’t think my husband watches the videos in his car, but if he does, he’s all set. He often works from the driver’s seat by answering calls and emails. Since he likes the videos so much, he’s welcome to sneak one in…while he’s parked.
This week I received some Vitamin D3 supplements in chewable form and I’ve been eating them as dessert. They are so yummy. I knew this was going to be a problem and I almost didn’t order them, but I decided to treat myself. According to my doctors, I need to ramp up my D3 intake quite a bit and thus I’m trying to get it from any direction possible. I’m just having to sacrifice!
A few weeks ago, I wrote that I had made a homemade self-tanner upon the recommendation from my sister-in-law. I wrote how I was skeptical and not really in need of a medicine cabinet tan, but decided to test out a recipe for her.
Now, a few weeks later, I realize I’ve fallen in love with putting it on because it makes my face feel so good. It has all good things in it like coconut oil, argan oil, black tea, and shea butter. I used to put it on when I felt like brightening up my skin for a night out, but now I put it on every chance I get.
Today, I got a mitt in the mail to put on self-tanner so that your fingers don’t end up looking orange and so that it goes on smoother. The mitt also came with a “finger mitt” for small places like my face. I’m super excited. The mitt is super soft which I think will make the experience even better than it’s already been!
This week, I was educated about vitamins that are good to help and encourage fertility. So often, we are exposed to vitamins that are good for pregnancy and breastfeeding, but not often do we see things that are designed for strengthening our fertility in order to get pregnant later.
From what I read and understand, the key ingredients are Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Folic Acid, Vitamin B, Coenzyme Q10.
One of the brands says “FERTILIFY is designed to not only help women that are trying to get pregnant NOW, but we also help women that want to maintain and support their fertility for use LATER in their lives”.
I thought that was very smart. With so many people I know freezing their eggs to ensure they have opportunities to have children later, this made sense.
If you haven’t heard of such supplements, I encourage you to check them out. With a list of ingredients like the above, it can’t hurt!
