Maggie’s Soft Coat

Everywhere we go, people remark how soft my dog’s coat is to pet. She naturally has lovely fur and it’s like sinking into a mink coat just sitting next to her.

At the same time, every spring she gets a skin allergy that has her scratching her tummy. The vet says to use Benedryl, but it makes her so sleepy that I hate to give it to her. She’s much happier when she’s full of energy and can jump around.

Today, we got some doggy-vitamins that I’m hoping will help. Omega-3s are great for skin and I think she’ll do great with them. She’s already digesting them easily and gobbling up the food that gets covered in a half teaspoon of the mixture.

Lastly, I’m so happy I don’t have to administer human omega-3 vitamins to her. Cutting open the capsules and squeezing them into her bowl was always a mess and most often left me with fishy odor on my hands and clothes. Gone are those days!

Here is a shot of Maggie loving her daily sun bath. She has British roots so it’s natural that she perhaps has sensitive skin when exposed to the harsh California sun.
